What is a lace closure and lace frontal?

Want to wear a protective style that doesn't require any of your hair to be left out? A lace closure or a lace frontal is a great option! This is a piece of fabric that has hair tied onto it that mimics the hairline of a human.

Lace Closure vs Lace Frontal

Both are made from a piece of lace fabric. Hair is looped around the tiny holes in the fabric then tied into a knot to secure it in place. This process is repeated until it covers the entire piece of lace. Another name for this process is hair ventilation.

Lace comes in different sizes and in different types. A lace closure is a square piece of lace that covers a small portion of the top, front part of your hairline. This lace type typically comes in the measurement of 4 inches by 4 inches (4x4) and 5 inches by 5 inches (5x5). You may also find 6x6 and 7x7 lace closures.

A lace frontal is more of a rounded, rectangular shape. The standard size of a frontal is 13 inches by 4 inches (13x4) or 13 inches by 6 inches (13x6). This piece of lace is long enough to cover your entire front hairline. This gives more parting space than a lace closure.

Different Lace Types

There are different types of lace fabrics used to create closures and frontals. You have Swiss laceFrench lace, and HD lace

Swiss lace is the most popular type of lace. It is durable and blends easily on skin.  French lace is slightly thicker than Swiss lace. French is better for beginners, but it doesn't blend as easily as Swiss. HD lace is like Swiss lace but it's much thinner. HD lace blends perfectly into the skin. However, you must be careful with it because it is more fragile.

Lace Colors

Lace comes in different shades. They can be transparent (a clear-like color), light brown, medium brown, and dark brown. Many mistakes transparent lace as being a lace type, but it is simply a lace color. Transparent color lace is the popular choice because you can add makeup to the lace to achieve any desired color.
